Usually I go through my sent inbox but it has so much extra info so it’s not a quick scan. Any tips on leaving a firm “correctly”? Was about to go “of counsel” with my firm of 6 years, but then another firm whose partners I really respect (and personally like) offered me a partnership position. I work in a midsize firm and we have the basic subscription to westlaw, which doesn’t include the ability to see filed briefs, motions, etc without incurring additional costs. I’m wondering if there is a service in the NJ/PA area that gives you access to previously filed motions and briefs? So if I’m drafting a summary judgment I could search the service and find a similar one. If this doesn’t exist.. I think I found the next million dollar idea lol

Anyone else get frustrated when the partner brags about their billable hour amount for the month? Like congrats, you get to bill .2 for each piece of mail. You also get .2 for every letter your secretary types up as a "form letter" you never even look at. As an Associate, I don't get those easy/automatic hours.
