This profession excuses way too much as “quirky” if you went to the right school and smile while doing it.

I’ve met some quirky people. I can easily see a very “so random” person who hasn’t spent much time in the working world thinking it’s funny to lightly bite people’s arms in a jokey way. Horrible judgment, immature, but not that wild.

In context it’s closer to that than the aggressive images people are painting of the situation. It explains why she got up to like 12 people or whatever before being stopped.

I think most sane people agree that it was truly unhinged behavior. The people who are ignoring/excusing it seem to be the ones who are concerned that the spotlight on her bad behavior could have a negative impact on her mental health.

I recently had a specialist partner send me a fairly nasty email after I (a transactional first year) was told to ask them to review something ASAP that had clearly been on my partner’s radar for over a week. I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

I have a partner that calls me multiple times a day to talk about updates on our cases. Sometimes just to ask “anything to update me on?” He’s known across all of the associates for doing this. Most of the calls repeat information I’ve already provided in emails to him or the client. I normally bill this time as “strategize on” or “consider XYZ in further of” and it keeps getting appealed. Any advice?

This is not my wheelhouse so I’m not sure of the answer. If someone is writing a “memoir” and is including me in it, and I DONT want to be in the book, do I have any legal recourse? I understand since it’s been published it doesn’t meet any invasion of privacy or potential defamation yet, but is there something I can do preliminarily to protect myself and stop my inclusion?
