Has anybody dealt with paralyzing self doubt long into their career? I’m 15 years in, have a ton of success behind me and all of a sudden when I get an assignment I have no idea where to start....
Hi, I hope today's found you all well! I'm seeking some assessments on my book. I'm hoping to land at an agency in the near future. If you're not tired of these posts yet, I'd love to DM. Ty. NYC
I have to say it, it drives me crazy when people say, “screen shotted”. I say, “screen capped” in this instance and, wow, do people look at me like they have no idea what that means. Small rant. Srry.
We’re launching a Strategy program, making us and VCU the only two schools to offer a fully comprehensive strategic planning track — except of course ours takes half the time and costs half the price.
Thought designers don't have to interact with people that as much. As an introverted designer, everyday feels like a struggle now....
To the decision makers at agencies: why are you waiting for the first person in your office to get diagnosed before letting people go home? If somebody in your agency dies, can you live with it?
I hate when people use the word ‘Content’. It’s lazy. What are you referring to? A website overhaul? Better emails? A better presence in Social Media. Be specific. It’s like saying ‘You need Creative’
Our new business head says brazen, outright lying is standard practice for winning pitches & clients and if you don't exaggerate/deceive you'll consistently lose. Is this just our guy or is this true?
How do we feel about the “everyone be here at 8:30 tomorrow so the new business clients can see people work here!” emails?
When it’s lack of faith in your CCO and your ECD.... how do you leave without being truthful and hurting their feelings?
Chase Freedom Q1 categories released today. I’d recommend anybody with a Sapphire Reserve to hop on that card and take advantage of the easy 5%!
Working remote this month. I was planning on visiting family in Vancouver for a few days next week, does anyone know if it's against policy to continue to work remote? Would rather not use PTO...
Trying to transition out of social media and into another role, but I'm at 10 YOE as a social strategist and it's difficult to transition. I can't quite find a role where i can apply my skills, learn new ones, and NOT take a massive pay cut. Is my best bet to try to move over to brand strat or consumer insights? Find a new career entirely? What's next for a social media manager stuck in a rut?
Yikes. "Starwood said hackers were able to see debit and credit card information..." http://bigstory.ap.org/article/1a407af151984a509da82ea0bf4060f7/starwood-warns-data-breach-54-its-hotels
AD here from Thailand with 6 years of experience and won some local and international awards. Came here to Canada last year and i'm being offered a junior AD role because of the lack of my Canadian experience with $50k salary. Is this the norm here?
I'm starting to think that maybe we should take a close look at this whole mask idea folks. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/14/health/coronavirus-hair-salon-masks.html
I'm in NYC workingas a PE M&A lawyer at a V20 firm. What can I do to better position myself for an in house role where there is more work life balance? Going in house at a PE shop doesn't seen much better than being at a big law firm.
Have a long layover in Paris on my way to India this dec and i have a valid Schengen visa. Is it possible to exit airport between flights? Anyone done that here?
I got offers from both Accenture and Slalom for technical Salesforce consulting roles. Compensation and level is similar. Which company should I choose and why? I am honestly very confused.
What’s your opinion about coworkers that use “we” when talking about work that they did not partake in or provide any value, causing others to believe they played a role and deserve credit?
Do others also feel that new hire (UG and MBA) spend more time and energy getting INTO consulting and once in focus less on STAYING in, growing and doing well?
Anyone ever heard of Vizient? Their website says they are “nation’s largest member-driven health care performance improvement company” so I don’t really understand what they do and how they make money. I don’t think they actually do consulting, but more like a company that hospitals sign up to be members where hospitals can get cheaper and better pricing on equipments. Is Vizient considered a “product company” on this pic below?
Does it make sense to make a lateral move from a Big 4 Advisory position as a Manager to a small (less than 100 person) boutique management consulting firm? Compensation and title are both the same but WLB will be much better at smaller firm (talked with current and former employees) and opportunities to advance in the company could be great as they are looking to grow rapidly. Base compensation overall is $170K in a T3 city. Recruiter wants to set up an interview.
Is anyone struggling with time boundaries while WFH? Since we’re all stuck home, everyone seems to think we’re willing to continue having meetings past 6/7pm and emailing until even later
My 40 yo client regularly calls me “kid”. At 30 I think it’s mostly endearing but still drives me nuts
Has anybody got a mental health/depression screening or something similar done with UHC/Deloitte health plans? Would it be covered at 100% as it may be considered as preventive care? I feel my mental health has been suffering because of both professional and personal reasons this year and it may have been exacerbated by the lockdown. I would like to take a step towards healing as I feel very broken.
