Best consulting firms in South Carolina?
Hey guys. I have an interview with EY Parthenon M&A Finance coming up. My recruiter said it will be an interview to assess my M&A/F&A Skills. Is that just a long winded way to say a case interview? Also does anyone have any tips on the interview process? Financial analyst here with experience in ERP implementation and working for the consulting line of business for my current company. Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Been here 2+ years, came from big4. Its legit, leadership actually cares about the employees.
I was skeptical when i came over, but expectations have been met. We have an entire slack channel dedicated to celebrating hospitality, i.e. going above and beyond for clients and coworkers. Things like
- driving a coworker to and from work events and the office while their car was in repair
- raising money in office to help a coworker that is moving away with moving expenses
- buying souvenirs for a client to give their children while they were traveling on a busy schedule
- assembling a “truck owners tool kit” with important tools, for a client whose kid just turned 16 and got their first car
Its not stuff that couldn’t happen other places, but its definitely celebrated here.
The list goes on. Leadership is all about taking care of employees so that employees will take care of clients.
TC definitely increased for me but i was also not a lateral move
Big4 - M2 - roughly $160k
Embark - SM first 12 months - roughly $205k including the fully paid healthcare premium for a family with kids.
The point of the add isnt really the money though, its that im not micromanaged, i work with people who dont just want to suck the energy out of me for the week and then hope i can show up on monday and do it all again, and i get to be a better father to my kids cause i actually separate from my job at the end of the day. Everyone has B4 horror stories, I had a partner call me multiple times until i picked up at 3am once, woke both me and my wife. That dude would have been asked to find a different career path at embark. For the employee its a culture and company we want to be a part of (90% employee engagement surveys) for the client they are getting consultants that are ready to do their best work cause they know they are taken care of (87 Net Promoter Score from clients, vs kpmg 26, deloitte 13, ey 22, pwc 20).

Based on Kevin’s work history, this will go bust in another 12-15 months or Kevin will leave. Probably the latter

That’s true. Consulting’s value prop is high salaries and promotions at a relatively faster rate. That is only possible with higher margins. No firm will compromise on margins , and if they do, they will lose people. This can only happen if major firms like McKinsey , B4 and the likes decide to change the operating model.

Quite odd posing this as a value prop to clients. Don’t know how many pe firms really care about of the consultant they are paying big dollars to on a quick burn dd is truly happy and at peace with his/her/xim circumstance
All the feels and unlimited PTO = win / win !
Happiness to me is doing zero work and getting paid $500k. Will they offer that?
That’s so weird. This is literally also mine. Did we just become best friends ?
