Now that is rough OP because I am imagining (working in healthcare at my hospital) that you are probably short staffed and everyone is probably picking up the slack and that is why they are stressed and burned out. If that is not the case I would definitely talk to your people and find out why they are feeling that way and see what you can do to fix it. If it is that you are short staffed then we both know that can't be fixed overnight.
We have been short staffed since the end of May when about a third of our team was laid off. They have been in the process of replacing them with people with different skill sets but it has been slow. 2 new people starting Monday.
I would ask that person if they could elaborate more as to what ways they seem it’s impacting the quality of your teams work. Have a 1:1 supervisory meeting, with an agenda, with each member focusing on anything personal or work wise that may be impacting their work and if there’s anything you can do to help in their situation. Have follow-up meetings planned at least bi-weekly or monthly. Recap or summarize each of those 1:1’s and research how you can address the issues brought to your attention. Also, reach out to your supervisor for input on ways to address the issue. Once changes are implemented monitor for said changes in effort to maintain the level of the quality of work that is expected of your team. One final food for thought. Google. Google. Google. Any thought you have on how to address and improve the situation, Google it . You’d be amazed at the results.
Hire new talent, ensure said new talent is up to par and quality training exists, much easier said than done.
Of course there's also a possibility, your org is quietly "downsizing" (perhaps a little at a time?), they do not wish to create panics leaving them w/far fewer good workers during such periods.
Good to keep in mind, employers are not workers "friends", they exist to make money, answer to shareholders. If they're very quietly "downsizing" it's kinda sleazy, but not much any single workers can do about it. If you belong to a union, ask them (in writing, email), they should make inquiries on your behalf. Also, employers hate unions, as they're much more powerful then single workers. Best of Luck To You.
Change your check in format by being to the feedback about what is lacking in their system support.

It sounds like your team might need better support or resources. A good starting point could be addressing workloads, improving communication, or offering stress management tools. Leadership might also consider fostering a more balanced environment to help alleviate stress and boost morale.
Management needs to be looked at. Staff should not be under this much stress. Management get on your job. Find the stress and eliminate it.
Yes EXCATLY!! I was a PCT at a hospital & when the CNO would come around everyone would be on the edge because of a possible back lash. Her patient navigator, (I say this cause they're friends) told a nurse that they needed to teach a patient to give herself shots. Nurses passed it on to each nurse. A few weeks later the CNO & Nurse Navigator came to the nurses station & confronted both RNs on shift that day in front of everyone. All of us was floored!! I myself was even confronted at the nurses station about a patient. I was told that the dr would like for the patient to have a whirlpool (nursing home attached) I told the patient that the whirlpool next door was ready. Patient asked why she had to have that? I explained to her that it was drs orders & that the nurse wanted it done. The patient was in her right mind & refused the whirlpool. I than went & told the nurse & documented. Went back maybe 20 to 25 mins as I was instructed, patient again refused. I told her than we needed to shower, patient was fine with that. I was pulled into the HRs office with CNO & was written up. I refused to sign it cause of the fact that patient had rights & I was doing as the patient said. Was told that I don't have that right nor the patient to go against drs orders. I stood up & said, THE PATIENT does if they're in their right mind!! I was so embarrassed, went into the linen closet & cried!! Ive been a PCT for 4 yrs & had never been talked to like that. Also I believe she could tell I had a weakness, cause I have been mentally abused cause I would just hold my head done when she would say something to me & always talked to me like I was a child!!
This sounds like an opportunity to bring everyone together and have an open conversation about what’s going on with the team. Whether it’s leadership, soured relationships, overworked, etc. the team needs to hash it out. If it’s gotten to the point where those outside the team can call it out without second thought it needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. Beyond that, reflect on things that you can hold yourself accountable for and be clear and concise with your message(s).
I had a similar experience. My leader suggested having a focus group meeting. It was held with my team, HR and The EEO team. The Executive report provided to me was solid information that was actionable. It has really improved moral.
First and foremost defend and support your team. Healthcare is a team sport and teams are interdisciplinary and should support one another. What is the motivation of this report? Was it delivered to you privately? Or broadcast to the organization? You need alot more information on these "observations and perceived quality issues." If your team is stressed make yourself visible, approachable, Ask for feedback, offer, help and resources or to intervene if there are issues that a manager needs to troubleshoot. The best way to know your team status is by meeting at least weekly, 1:1's weekly or biweekly. If you're AGILE - you are checking in daily while being respectful of their time to help avoid problems and boost morale.
