Someone said, 'they need excuses to get out of a mostly non-important meeting they have scheduled in an hour, does anyone have a good go-to excuse for when you need to get out of the meeting?'

if I ever find myself in such a situation, first of all I will communicate with everyone in the meeting letting them know I won't be able to wait till the end of the meeting we can cancel if they want us to, but if they insist we go on with the meeeting I willl set a timer letting them know, I will be cheecking out sooner than expected.

If y are remote the good old “my internet is down “ works all the time

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?

Any one recently joined Indeed? Want to know if Indeed asked for a reliving/experience letter from the previous employer. I am joining Indeed in July. I can provide references and recommendations. Before leaving, I just want to ensure that I am equipping my successor to take care of my product and build it further…

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.
