Someone tell me to stop. I’m doing that thing where I’m pretty sure I don’t have much capacity left but Oooh shiny object AKA new client with a fun project so yes, sure, why not - on top of full time employment 😩

How do you guys pick and choose who to take on and who not to? If you’re already on an on-going consultancy and a shiny new object comes along, how do you determine which to keep and which to punt? Or do you have the same sickness as me and say eff it, I can do it?

I actually would like more projects and not long term contracts so if someone proposed a 4-6 week project I would jump on it

Definitely the issue ha!

It’s impressive that you are able to juggle all of these along with a full time job! Congrats nonetheless! How do you do it?

I can tell you that I wake up at 4:30 in the morning everyday Monday through Friday.

My load is enough that I can't bear to add another thing. The thought makes my stomach turn. So nope! I don't have what you have!

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice with regards to my next career step. Currently in audit and I have opportunities to go for a Valuations role or an FDD role (both big 4). What are the pros and cons of each? (hours and learning opps, not concerned about salary) Not looking to work long term in both and would likely want to transition into an FP&A role in the future. Hoping to jump directly but require modelling experience.

Anyone know the comp for staff attorneys at a premiere lit boutique like Susman? Interested in making the move as an alternative to going in-house, but also aware that it would reduce comp and might be a step down and result in being seen as a second-class citizen. But I don’t really care about any of that.

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. As my career progressed as a RDA, I moved to the front office and eventually management. I even taught dental assistants and became the Program Director of a DA program. COVID opened up remote work for me, I manage eclaims, claims corrections and billing for two offices. $20 per hour, no bonuses or incentives, I know I am not getting paid enough! Any input would be appreciated.

Anyone have multiple FT jobs? I'm looking about to land a new primary FT job, as my current job is very very slow, doesn't really have any projects for me, and could end at any time (with a 30 day notice).
Where there any legal issues? (The two companies area in different industries so no competition). How did you manage both? The new company knows I'm still employed, should I quit the first or keep it as long as I can manage both? Any bad vibes or feelings of unprofessionalism? TIA

The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.

My current role is hybrid with at least two days a week in office. However, with the potential economic downturn, I'm considering holding on to the role to supplement my income.

I'm new to the overemployed movement, so I'm evaluating the feasibility of holding onto the hybrid role and the remote position.

I really want to get a second job but I am scared of losing my current one. Both companies are in same field, although not direct competitors so I know it’s technically “not allowed” however, this is the only way for me to get that $$ since I am not paid all that well.

Of course I won’t tell a single friend/coworker. Only my partner. And I don’t post work stuff on social media.

Realistically what are the ODDS of being caught? Is there a legal/HR process with which they could find out??
