Sometimes I have trouble speaking to my coworkers because I’ll forget words in English which makes me sound silly, to say the least. Anyone dealt with that? If so, how did you overcome the feelings of insecurity?

It doesn’t make you sound silly, that’s you getting inside your own head. Try speaking slower, let your brain catch up with your mouth.

I’ve been there. First, accept that it’s a long process. Then start with a basic vocabulary to get your ideas across, don’t try to use fancy words that don’t come out naturally. And study a lot. Read books, watch everything with English subtitles and talk to coworkers about life. Your vocabulary will improve and you won’t even notice. But again, be patient with yourself and know that most people don’t speak more than their native language, so it's more in your head than their perception.

So, what clinic do you all go to?

I’ll start it off. I’ve been to 3:
1. RSC in San Ramon, CA
2. Spring in Oakland and SF, CA
3. SCRC in Santa Barbara, CA

I’ve also done outside monitoring at RMA in SF, CA. Multiple reasons for the many clinics if anyone is interested.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

Hi fellow immigrants. My partner and I are in the process of getting a visa, and we need an agent and as many contacts as possible for intent letters. Anyone that can offer some help? We're experience enough, hot agencies, hot cities, live work, real interest from NY agencies... Is just that we don't know people in the US yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi friends! Is there anyone on here who’s successfully gone through the process of getting letters of intent from potential employers for their O-1 visa? Would you be down to chat? Thanks so much in advance!

Do you know if you are being underpaid vs your white colleagues?
If so, how did you find out?
How do you feel about it? What did you do about it?

What's the best way to find opportunities abroad? LinkedIn or via recruiters? Are there other job sites to consider, specifically for advertising?

does anyone have any advice for applying for an O-1? i don’t have any awards and my agency doesn’t really make work that gets in the press so i’m feeling stuck. what kind of evidence did you submit for your visa application?

Is this an active bowl or a trap?!?
