Colleague said “oh hello, who the fuck are you?” When I brought up what I guess was an unwanted opinion. This was years ago when I was more junior.

I attended a Kindergarten Readiness meeting and a preschool director who has been open for most of the pandemic said that her staff wears smocks or aprons to protect themselves. We are going back full time in less than a month. I am not sure if I should buy an apron. Does anyone know any research about this?

Moved to industry and noticed my boss has been dumping all of their work, meetings on me and blocking calendar for personal time. How do you manage this? I have been overwhelmed since I joined past 2 months. They are nice and supportive it’s just that the minute I complete one task they start pushing more and more to me with no breather in between. Some items that they owned before I joined are also something I have to ramp up on.

Often times, I’m amazed with how many smart and talented people I work with. I feel like an imposter and that I don’t belong in these meetings doing all this work I don’t really understand. And then my MD confesses to me that they don’t really understand the technical stuff our team works on. They’ve been faking this longer than I have and they’ve made it. That’s reassuring.

Hi I am new manager and I am happy to find this group. Recently I hire new person and he looks totally weird. He is asking how many meetings does he need to attend everyday. Or he has to finish his training during a week but he postpone everything to weekend. Because he is from another city I couldn’t push him to be at the office, but I feel like he has side job and he didn’t tell us. I am not sure how I need to manage this situation. They should report if they have second job.

As of now, I’m on FMLA. As a department lead, I was led to believe that I would return to my role after my leave. My direct manager recently announced in a group meeting before I left that my supervisor role would be opened the day I return to the office, she noted that she is moving in a different direction. I got hired to be the SME on a particular tech platform at my current company. I have more experience on it than my boss does, yet during a code review, he insisted that I delete a section of code that was perfectly functional and shippable and swap in his preferred code. Two hours later, he figured out that the reason why there were more than a few compiler errors in the code was because my code actually worked… smh.
