I recently made the switch from industry finance to consulting and I’m struggling to find my place within the role. I was brought on as a Sr.Associate and I feel like I’m not producing at the same level as those below me. I’ve been told that my focus probably needs to move from producing deliverables to guiding/leading those who are producing deliverables. I work under a leader that is very positive and then also very disrespectful to me in front of my team. This leader is well known and respected in my area of the firm and this is the first time I’m working with him, so I’ve been pretty shocked at the level of disrespect/condescension etc. This leader is unclear with their asks and all over the place.
