Singapore for the money. Sydney for quality of life and more varied job opportunities
This
Singapore - low taxes, next to no work like balance, particularly in Consulting. Sydney - much better WLB, higher taxes, so low net income.
Sydney: marginally lower living costs; higher income tax; larger economy with more client opportunities; temperate climate; beautiful beaches downtown; much better overall lifestyle - live at the beach; great restaurants, coffee and great social / dating opportunities; free press; democratic; economic wealth and stability; largest clients have deep pockets to spend on consulting and technology and include big 4 banks; largest mining companies in the world, large government agencies,
Singapore: exceedingly hot 365 days of the year (situated 100km north of the equator); 1-2 hrs flight time to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam etc; low income tax, but very high living costs; good shopping; large state owned enterprises (SIA, Temasek, Singtel) often long sales cycles and relatively spend thrifty compared to US firms; regional headquarters for American firms in APAC, pegged currency to USD; EURO; GBP and AUD with stability for now; shipping centre etc; draconian drug laws (death penalty); no free press; no democracy (one party system); no anti slavery legislation enforcement and in practice cheap Labour shipped in from Indonesia and Malaysia to do menial jobs;
What are your thoughts on aspects of raising a family, heathcare, and quality of early to secondary education?
Singapore. Both are crazy COL, but Singapore comes with lower taxes and live-in help.
Some of our friends moved from Melbourne to Singapore, and while we are all struggling to scrape by, they at least have full-time childcare for their children.

Singapore for money
Sydney for basically everything else (quality of life, health, food, weather, things to do, social life, nature and outdoors, raising a family, etc)
