My bags would already be packed
So jealous 😭😭 you’re living my dream
Why not? Do it while you don’t have any children (I’m assuming you don’t) and plan on staying with the firm in the medium term. Also London is cool and the US is a short-ish flight away.
Go! Go! Go!
I’ve been silently praying this opportunity comes my way 😭 do it!!
Sounds like a golden opportunity. Go for it!
In your shoes, I would take the opportunity, but you do have room to ask questions. First off, would you be staffed out of NY, London or both? That will have an impact on your client and partner relationships (and your sleep schedule). Secondly, will the firm provide the opportunity to come back to NY for certain events, trainings, etc. to ensure that you remain connected?
How did you come across this opportunity?
I would also do this, but fwiw I’ve heard London biglaw works US cap markets attorneys harder than NYC does. Can also be easy to get lonely time zones and a country away from friends and family.
I spent a year in the Hong Kong office as an associate. One of the best decisions of my life. Go for it!
