This is crazy, how does this keep happening?? Luckily for me, I don't have anything worth stealing. But if some benevolent hacker wants to pay off my student loans, I certainly won't stand in their way.
Honestly, the first few times this happened I would go change all my passwords. However, if I had a dime for every time, one of these stories about major password leaks or security hacks happened I could retire. I can’t freak out every time it happens. It’s just the way of the world now and AI is only going to make this more frequent.

I felt the same until someone opened a credit card in my name. My paranoia is permanent so I feel the need to share. The easiest thing to do is a credit freeze which can be done free with a credit report company like Experian.
Just another fact of our digital world. All the more reason to lock down your stuff as much as you can. Hackers and leaks aren’t going anywhere. I’ve been looking into a more secure email provider and some other things, but end of the day, there is no true safeguard against it.
