I’m currently working in Citi as an AVP in Mumbai for the past 9 months.. due to personal reasons I wanted to move back to Pune (I have worked in Pune for last 8 years before coming to Citi) so I landed up with an offer from HSBC into Wholesale IT (GCB5).
My current Fixed CTC in Citi is 26.5 excluding PF and Retrials and HSBC IT has offered me 30.5 for the same and said they cannot increase further as am moving jobs in after 9 months which is too early..

Hello,
All the money is taxed on that said taxbreak.
All 279150kr is taxed 1.7%
Everything over that and until 642950 is taxed 4%.
When you hit a new taxbreak, the money above it is only taxed that amount until next taxbreak.
Please, dont turn down higher salary 😊
PA1 : takk :) this helps :) Although i am unsure about how and which exact table applies to me, but it gives easy calculation.
Please read up on tax brackets
I did read on skatt website, but it wasnt making much sense to me. Only thing i understood was there is a general tax of 22% and then bracket tax is added on top of it.
i thought its a simple addition. 700k salary means 22%+13.5% = 35.5 % on total.
now i understand its not that simple. was looking for a simple guide/overview on norwegian tax system.
The easiest way to estimate taxes in Norway is to just use one of the many calculators online. Google skattekalkulator and similar. Your tax and thus also take home pay will be affected by a couple of factors, including loans carrying interest, kids and living in northern Troms or Finnmark. These factors are usually included as questions in the various online calculators.
