So is clients asking for a unpaid writing test “that shouldn’t take more than two hours” really a thing? When I asked the recruiter how they intended to pay me for those two hours, I was told it’s an unpaid test but’s she’d see if they would make an exception 🤔

I politely passed on the opportunity.

I used to get 2-3 productive hours after the kids went to bed to catch up on work, chores, shopping, etc but now I'm struggling to have any motivation after the hour-long process of getting kids down.

What's a good place to live to access both downtown and Argonne national lab in Lemont? I live on the far north side of Chicago now, but my partner got a new job and it would be an hour each way by car to commute for him. I work downtown along the red line. Looking for somewhere affordable, not interested in night life or anything but groceries and transit need to be 10 minute walk or less and be safe. I honestly struggle with the politics of Afghanistan. It does appear that after 20 years we leave and within months it goes back to very similar or on its way. It’s not the US job to be the world police we did try to build coalitions and fail at the end of the day unless we’re willing to keep troops there forever which most Americans don’t want to I am not sure what the right thing to do is. And I’m sick of criticism just for the sake of the president. I don’t think there’s a perfect solution
