Dayuummmm!! That’s the way to ring it in.
👏🏾 grandpa!!!
Dang. Purely out of ignorance, is any wine from 1979 still drinking well?
It was a gamble, but the cork is in better shape than the 1990 we opened last week.
I use a Coravin, so I don't actually take the cork out. But the 1990 cork popped up when we pressed the button to release the gas, and I don't think the hole in the cork sealed. This one was fine.
It isn't as good as the lafite, but it's still very good.
Holy sh%t
Wow you used a coravin on a wine that old?? I’m surprised there wasn’t too much sediment.
We drank a 2003 Cannubi Barolo last night and there was sediment. The ones I’ve had from the 80’s and 70’s have a ton of sediment. Also, the corks are often so delicate at that point that I wonder how they would hold up with a coravin
