I would 100% look into other opportunities. No matter what it’s about, having an official talk with a witness (yikes) is never a good thing.
Right? My thoughts exactly.
How new are you? I lateraled last year and had a lot of trouble transitioning. I still have stress about it some days. Every firm definitely has its own quirks (and some have crappy cultures). But hours are hours. I think the mantra here is "it's not your fault if a partner blows a quote for work to be performed, bill your hours."
I made a commitment to stick it out for a year, which I passed a couple months ago. Now I'm looking for something with a better fit. I think it may benefit you to last a year, but never hurts to try your luck at lateraling again now. It's just a pain in the ass to deal with resumes, applications, and interviews.
This is me!! I told myself I will give it a year at least- it has only been 5 months for me but recently I’ve been thinking about whether it would be worth staying for another half of the year…
Why don’t you have the call and go from there?!?
