Need to get rid of nouvelle chicane, make tabac a sharper turn for safety so you cant carry as much speed, add a DRS section from tunnel to Tabac, change tire strategy to require use of all 3 compounds instead of just 2 (not only does it add a pitstop but needs more strategy). And maybe shorten the race by a few laps.
I think it's too iconic a race to get rid off, it offers F1 the Vegas of Europe or I should say Vegas offers F1 the Monaco of US. I really liked the Vegas race last year outside the Sainz fiasco.
Agree with some of these, but not the DRS through the tunnel. That would be way too dangerous given the environment. Likewise I don't think the braking point at Tabac would be meaningful enough to improve the overtakes.
Think they should lean much more on the execution side and have potentially Monaco specific rules regarding using all of the tires. Wouldn't want to see this at other tracks, because I think almost all the teams would default to the same strategy. Would like to see offset strategies where some teams are going for one stop and others are going for two stops - think this provides the most interesting racing.
Monaco has always been most boring race.
Just curious what makes it light years ahead? They’re both part of the holy trinity in motorsports racing; Indy 500, 24 hours of Le Mans, and Monaco Grand Prix
I’d argue that in 2008 is when they got too big. My preference are the mid 90’s cars.
I don’t know, you’ll probably never see drivers fight to see who can go slowest at the Indy 500. And you probably will never hear a radio message as good as “we gain nothing by going faster at the moment”
