The footer is not the end. It’s an overlooked opportunity.

In most projects, design efforts fade by the time we reach the footer — delegated to developers or filled with generic links. But what if we treated it as a final impression, not just a formality?

In my recent project, I used the footer to reinforce brand tone, guide action, and sharpen layout discipline.

Turns out, the lowest part of the page can quietly elevate the entire product.

Any part of a page can be put to good use and comprise good design, that's true. Footers are generally utilitarian, and that's for good reason, users expect to find useful links there. Heat map research would likely tell us that most eyes never land there, but putting design elements in the footer can work for those who do venture that far.

No, I am not saying that the user's path will change.
I am more inclined to believe that the user experience should be pleasant from the first screen to the last, and perhaps it is through the footer that you will gain a new customer because you spent a little more time and a little more resources than necessary.

Interesting. It can help to strengthen your brand, and usually, where our legal and compliance text goes. What else would you recommend going there aside from brand images?

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

Hi all
I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

Should i apply and then email someone? In HR? Or someone who’d be directly supervising me? Or someone at my level? And what should i say? Thanks!

I’m looking to take on more of an art director and creative director role, remotely. I can attach my website and a portfolio if anyone can help out.
