The most exhausting part of some jobs isn’t the work, it’s the emotional regulation required to survive the culture. When did you realize you were managing people’s moods more than your role?

I would say this is usually the case for me, to be honest. Rarely is the work the issue, it's always the culture and the people. I could handle the work, I can't handle the toxicity.

Very much agree

Yes, that’s correct

That's such a good point. I've been in positions where the work itself may not have been exciting, but it was pleasant enough. Dealing with some of the personalities on the job was the real challenge. Emotional regulation is a good term for it, you have to be so careful at times.

Absolutely! It's exhausting how much just making sure the team survives the day it's part of the job

Hi,
CCTC including all benefits is 16.57 with 8.3 YOE, primarily focused on Manual Testing.
Is it worth looking for another opportunity?
I am afraid after seeing layoffs news of EPAM, Publicis Sapient & most of the other companies calling employees in the office.
I love my WFH in PwC India & base location of Kolkata. & the best thing is stability in PwC India, they never lay off!!

Remember one thing - If some companies are laying off employees then it's equally a good chance for the other companies to get talented resource . Here things will remain balanced mostly and there's no need to fear . Not all companies do layoff at the same time. You may end up getting a 100% hike too. Just believe in yourself and focus on your skillset, time to brush up and pull up your socks. Stay safe , stay positive !

Why are engineers so difficult to recruit? Sometimes they make me feel stupid lol.

Currently live in NYC and I absolutely hate it as I love mountains and playing outdoors. I can either relocate now and have a stagnant but decent career that will allow me to enjoy my life. Yet, I also have ambition to climb up this corporate ladder in NYC and grind out here and hope to retire sooner and live wherever I want hopefully in 15 years or so and meantime travel occasionally to enjoy those things. Please share your wisdom. I need some advice. My LOS is pretty much exclusively NYC.

Feeling really nervous, help! I’ve been using topical hydroquinone 4% since before I found out I was pregnant. Now reading the label I realise that it’s not advised and a category C by the FDA - I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have obviously stopped now but really scared I might have caused serious harm to my baby.

Have any of you used this while pregnant and it turned out fine? Any other insights that can give me some peace of mind? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
