This lady thinks HR is going to do something about it? All it signals is not being able to handle conflict.

I agree, no need to involve HR usually. Too much red tape.

I admire that you stood your ground... sometimes we have to. In these situations, I think it’s all about being confident and not letting interruptions derail your point. I’ve learned that staying calm but firm is key. If it continues, I’d consider having a more direct conversation with him about how it affects the team dynamic - especially the women in the room.

OMG I know that had to have felt good to keep talking and eventually have him stop trying to talk over you. That is exactly how I would have handled it because they don't do that to each other when one of the men are speaking. It drives me insane.

It depends on the situation. Certainly there are many times when people get interrupted and it’s appropriate to not stand for it. Finish your thought

I’ve also seen it happen that a person who gets interrupted responds by continuing to talk and talk, and it becomes an obvious verbal pissing match. Know when to yield

Trying to get ahead of my caseload feels like trying to climb a hill made of loosely-packed pebbles. No matter how much I scrabble, I’m sliding closer and closer to the bottom.

How do you get caught up (or even ahead) when you’re always behind? Assume that all things that can be offloaded have been offloaded. I cannot take one more all nighter trying to get a motion drafted two days before the deadline because I couldn’t get to it earlier.
