“Class” is related with a lifestyle and wealth and not your compensation . 250 K is not upper class. Not even close. Even if you consider just comp, that won’t be even put you in top 5% of US households.
You can be upper class with over 10 M in net worth , even if you make 250 K in comp. Don’t confuse wealth with compensation. Someone will 10 M++ can sustain their upper class lifestyle even without a salary, 401 K matches and all that . You cannot. If you have to rely on keeping your job, you are middle or upper middle class
Someone who makes 100 K but rents is not higher in class compared to someone who makes 80 K and owns a house.
Household income?
If yes, then 200-250k post taxes (depends on the city cost of living)
Idk we’re at 600k HHI and feel middle class tbh
That just me and my wife pal
Depending on where you live, $100k may be on the lower end of middle class. $250 is not even close to upper. Everyone has their own definitions, but for me upper class people are not worried about funding things like their kids college, vacations, and retirement. Middle class people worry about those things (and similar). $250/year HHI isn’t going to cross that threshold.
I feel lower at 80k
We pay 3k in rent :(
