A woman I know had a professional career earring over $300k annually. She felt the same way.
She quit her job and completed her nursing studies and has been an oncology nurse for over a decade now. She told me it was one of the best decisions she had ever made to enhance her life and making a difference in the lives of many people and their families.
I know a lot of nurses personally and a lot of them want to leave nursing as a career. Make sure you talk to people first!

Do you have any nurse friends to discuss with?
They can give you a better feel for the day to day.
Also, they can tell you the: "If I had to do xyz again, I would've....". What school they would've gone to, which loans/scholarships/paths/etc.
Good luck!

I suspect it depends a lot on specialty. Healthcare workers overall are quite burned out, and my friends in healthcare complain they are underpaid, over worked, under appreciated by patients, and bored from doing the same stuff every day. I think it’s a noble profession but you really need a burning passion to help people and understand the tradeoffs.
You can make over 300k and work from home as a nurse and don’t need to work Monday to Friday. I’ve seen nurses making that much money and working only 3 days a week or so. Even cops are paid decently and can retire around 45 with 120k a year pension. There are tons of great jobs out there
Good convo here. Seems like we are all fed up with big corp in some way

Sure but dealing with hospital administration isn’t easy either. We have the biggest nurse strike in NYC, they are fighting for benefits. So make sure you know the pros and cons.

I had friends who did travel nursing for a few years to increase their pay. Once you have enough experience you can do per diem, pick up shifts at nursing homes, etc. You can also have an 8-5pm nurse job, or work 3 days 12 hr shifts. My friends like the flexibility they get.
Nursing sucks - go to PA school. Source: have dated many nurses and PAs
Say goodbye to holidays and weekends off
Sounds like a great idea but notably absent from the commentary is any kind of passion for medicine.
Without that you won’t be happier.
