Dems are pretty united that Platner should step down. If we be great is we could agree that sexual abusers shouldn’t be able to hold public office. It would prevent Trump from holding office.
Pro
Also it was the trends that had Dems starting to take allegations seriously. https://newrepublic.com/article/212683/maine-senate-polls-graham-platner

So to be clear, the Democratic Party and its voters pressured someone with extreme character defects and possible criminal history to step down from running, which is a thing the GOP has almost universally failed to do for more than a decade.
And your position is that this is some kind of gotcha? It would seem that people aligned to the Democrats still possess moral fiber, which Republicans have conspicuously (and near uniformly) lacked for over a decade.

Compared to the most recent allegations, that one did seem explainable. According to him- his whole platoon got the same tattoo overseas (at a fairly young age), and he didn’t know the history. For me that was believable, especially after he had already covered it up (unlike Hegseth).
After all the additional allegations, I don’t think any of his explanations should be taken at face value… he’s not credible and I’m glad the party forced him out
What’s there to say? Prominent democrats have been pressuring him to leave, and were very vocal about it and he did- you know like the way things used to work.
If this were a republican, he would be upgraded to become senate majority leader and get the ticket to run for presidency. By now , we would have had the president posting how attacking Platner is “un- American “ and it’s no big deal. GOP will in fact gang up on the victim, while quoting the bible.
People who ask this have no idea about how low they have sunk that they have no clue about absolute sickening cowardice of GOP leadership.
D1 do you realize when you say things that are exceptionally easily disproven, your side actually looks more stupid?

We have a sitting senator who has not provided credible proof of life in 3 weeks and we’re restarting the Iran war.
There are more pressing matters to discuss.
Platner will get dropped and the party will move on. Next.
The difference between the Dems and Republicans is democrats get rid of these ppl.
Yawn a significant number of Dems have redrawn their support & told him to resign. The
convicted felon President has to pay millions to a woman for sexually abusing & defamation. No matter how many AI generated “we love you Trump” posts are spammed in this board will ever change the facts.

The chuds are so incredibly mad that Dems got rid of Platner while they're stuck defending Epstein's best friend. Sad to see them like this.

genuine valid point.
Democrats are equally guilty, and we should own it.
This was egregious, but I definitely think Donald J Trumps rapes were worse.
Pro
P2 you skipped over the part about the allegations against Trump and Kavanaugh being serious… they weren’t.

I was going to add my voice to this but everyone said it already.
The difference between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party is that when the Democrats find a sexual predator in their midst, they force him to stand down, even if it puts their goals at risk. The Republicans, on the other hand, make sure he’s elected president.

Someone posted about it yesterday. But I don't think you'll find a Democrat defending him. I am as blue as they come and I thought he should've stepped down a while ago. And not to beat a dead horse, the Republican Party absolutely does not force their members to step down.
Awww this didn’t go how you expected huh lol

It definitely seems like there are many fake/spam accounts in here.

The timing feels like a planned political hit job.
How so? If he raped her that’s his fault, I’m not victim blaming based on timing 🤷♀️
OP opened the wrong can of worms
80% R and 20% D since 2020
And I am being generous to Rs with 80%

Or let democracy play out. Guy won his primary. Collin’s won hers. The people had valid info and selected him. Let the people of Maine select their person in the general vs the party machine stepping in to override the voters will. Is allegation #10 the dividing line? Where is everyone with the Democracy T-shirts being outraged?

They will, in November. Parties are free to determine their own nomination processes.
Cool if I do it but not when you do it typical Dems.

What are they even talking about
