This is the last year our school district will stay together before splitting and I'm very anxious that crazy things will happen to my workload. Hoping it is a chill year but who knows what chaos this will bring. Has anyone gone through a split? What should I expect?

Curious as to how many deals at once is typical for a first year associate to take on (M&A, mostly private equity clients). Deal size is lower middle market and I’ve worked on deals ranging from $1-$110M. 2 deals at once is plenty for me, but it seems like my peers are able to take on more than that at once and still do fine.
