what's the big deal with all cash home buyers ? this is who we're competing against and I don't get it if all things being equal, it's still the same amount of money. my husband and I are getting outbid on homes for the same offer amount solely because the buyers are paying cash. What am I missing other than the sellers are getting their money faster?

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. I’m mid 30s F. Recently started seeing this guy, where he is “good enough”. Good conversations, decent time together, he has a good heart, but nothing about him shines. - not fit (I work out everyday and play sports), meh social skills (he doesn’t have best friends, just few he hangs out with), bit less energy than me.
There is a feeling in me that says “he’s going to be a comfortable life partner” and “he is just good enough, but if I break up I won’t find someone for a long time”

How do you handle billing disputes? Already feel like we’re a steal compared to other firms, but it’s the pits when clients kvetch about the bill after working hard on their matters. For five figure disputes, anyone recommend collections? Don’t really want to institute retainers, especially since it doesn’t seem common for our practice area.
