Currently I make a base of $63k/yr and $1k/mo in bonuses pre-tax. Hello, Am confused with a few optns in my career growth. I have 2 offers in hand 1 from a tier 3 or tier 4 comp nt a start up. They're offering me a good package with so many career benifits like an onsite, opportunity, certification n good technology exposure. Another offer frm a reputed comp a tier 1 comp not an expectd package n benefits.
Few of my frnds are suggested if i choose a small company my opportunities in future will narrow down when compared to a reputed. Pls can someone help here?

Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?

Does anyone know when the JS salary bumps occur?
I graduated in May 2020, but did not start working at my firm until September 2020. I’ll start my clerkship in June 2021 — will I start at JS-12 or JS-13? If I start at JS-12, will I ever bump up to JS-13?

For writing samples in clerkship applications, can you edit/revise a final work product already submitted to the court? For instance, if there's a typo or something. Can more substantive edits be made to improve the work product?

Ive been practicing in TX for 2-3 years at a big law firm doing mostly bankruptcy work (and some trial) and looking to clerk at a bankruptcy court in SDNY/DDE/EDVA (I am well aware of how great the SDTX judges are but I am set on leaving Texas). Anyone familiar with how many apps these judges normally get or what makes candidates stand out? Are these judges generally not interested in someone who has practiced in a different market?
