Do you want to wear it or just have it? If you want to wear it, buy what you like - what do you think looks good on you. If you want to have it, then think about investment return and why you want it if you don’t want to wear it often.
Buy what speaks to you and you can afford.
Personally prefer the proportions and materials of almost all the sport models before the maxi case and ceramic bezels came out, and that’s a pretty common sentiment. As someone with a 114060, I keep toying with trading it for a birth year 5513, but probably won’t because it was on my wrist for the births of all my kids and some other less important milestones.
Yeah, I’m in a similar boat where I have a 116710LN and go back and forth on trading it for a 16710LN just because the older models kind of look better and are more comfortable. Similar to SM1, I’ve had it for almost a decade and it’s been on my wrist for a lot of that time, so I probably won’t, but if I were starting fresh with what I know now, I’d probably get the five digit ref.
Appreciate the responses!
If it’s what you really want, then yes, used is fine.
