I'm prior active duty, now a reservist, and am interviewing with Deloitte (anticipating an offer). What do I need to know about Deloitte's benefits and policies, especially as it relates to drill, annual training, and deployments?

Deloitte was pretty awesome and I miss their reservist benefits:
For AT/IDT you get full pay up to 300 hours a year-for me this meant that I could drill in the middle of the week which meant I didn’t lose my weekend and I got to get FaceTime with my active counterparts
For long tours, anything more than 30 consecutive days, you get differential pay, but they don’t count BAH so you make slightly extra. You will get differential pay up to 18 months if I remember correctly after which they will still keep your employment. I know some people that came back after 2-3 years of being in orders.

When you go on drill it does not count against you, so they reduce your denominator. The issue is that this is a manual calculation, so your coach has to understand the process and do a good job advocating for you and your “adjusted” utilization.

like

Great stuff, appreciate it!

Benefits are usually standard across all B4. At a minimum they have differential pay when you are on drill/AT. They would make you whole as if you had worked for them the entire time. USERRA also requires them to keep your position until you return. Most likely you would receive differential pay up to 12 months.

Currently on long term orders with the company

They only count base pay, not bah or any SDAP when doing diff

Deloitte offers 18 months of diff pay for long term orders and you can continue to put into your 401k. Diff pay resets the first day you come back from orders.

Get TRS instead of using Deloitte healthcare. Just remember if you do long term orders you gotta resign up for TRS as it’s cancelled when you get tricare. 30+ days = tricare

Going on mil LOA is pretty simple with the company

Your utilization is not affected while on orders, so if you leave with 90% you come back at the same. Now be mindful I have had promotions and bonus affected by long term orders but honestly I don’t care as I make out with the diff pay. In theory my mil leave shouldnt be affected but I don’t fight it

You continue to generate leave at Deloitte while on orders. I have had leave expire while on orders and always get it restored when I come back.

Once you get into the company they have a great section on Deloittenet that talks about military loa

All my managers have been supportive of my military loa, I have only heard of one story where someone got some crap from a manager.

OP if you get in pm me on fishbow and we can connect as I’m in the ANG. Supposedly there is a guard/reserved group in the company.

I’m a junior and I have the opportunity to join the employment and benefits group as a specialist. The alternative is VC/M&A.

I’m under the impression that joining the EB group will still give me decent exit ops, has more manageable workflow (less unexpected dumpster fires like in deal-work), and a somewhat better WLB because of my previous point.

Any disagreement/any other things I should consider before deciding?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

I didn't apply for a job that would have set me up for the future in the government. I wouldn't have to worry about money or future jobs. My boss had just given me a small pay rise and talked up the future and so I felt good. I now severely regret not applying for the job and cannot stop thinking about it to the point of insomnia and depression. I even contacted the employer but too late. It's a small town and rarely anything comes up. I hate myself and feel like I failed my family. :(
