So I just recently passed my CPA exams and I’m now looking for new opportunities. I’m hoping to work at a big 4 firm in tax and possibly connect with anyone working there right now. Please reach out to me, I would look forward to connecting and learning more about potential opportunities. Thanks!EY PwC Deloitte KPMG
PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

We have a no homework policy here. Admin jumped on the bandwagon that homework creates unnecessary stress for kids and parents. Even high school kids only have homework if they don’t complete assignments in class. I have mixed feelings about it. I feel as though we have seen such a decline in students’ skills, parent engagement, and people appreciating the value of education. No homework just further disconnects schools and families. It makes it seem like learning is something people do only in school and does not help students generalize or strengthen skills to use in everyday life. I understand that families are busy and that there is much more to life than school work.
The upper division math I teach often requires kids practice more than they could possibly get during class time.
When that is the case, they need to find time to get it done.
My course isn't an everyone class, so we all deal with it.
Homework has to be reasonable and worthy of it being done at home. I’m not saying kids shouldn’t have it, but 20 math problems, for example, is overkill. We shouldn’t have them doing busywork.
I recall research saying 10 minutes per grade level, which is more reasonable, but two hours is still a lot for high schoolers who need to work, as I did.
I am an AP teacher on a block schedule and I warn my students from day one to expect an hour most nights to keep up with the material. Expectations should be high and parents should not be over scheduling their kids. I did not with my personal children, they were allowed one thing per week and that was it. Bed times were strictly enforced and limited screen times. Students also need to learn time management
