Thoughts on if I should keep or leave my job that I hate. I am 22 years old with a duplex and a triplex. Come March all apartments will be rented and all of my bills will be offset. I am blessed to make a $60k annual salary but it feels like a literal prison every single day. I love the real estate field and wondered if anyone here had any good connections or insight with their experience in the matter to share with a newcomer in upstate NY.

If you can ride another 3 to 5 years, and snag another 1 to 3 properties, you can really be sitting pretty. Tapping out now is tempting, but riding it out a bit longer can really set you up long term.

What exactly is your question? Are you saying you’re looking for ways to quit your job while also continuing to work in the real estate field? What sort of work do you do now? Are you living in one of the properties now?

keep your job or at least secure another job that you enjoy. you’re young, keep stacking your 9-5 pay and live below your means. It’s hard to delay gratification especially for your age group but trust me … pay now and play later. later doesn’t have to be 70 lol it can be 30 if you choose that option for your life. i’m a 30 yo woman and i enjoy my job but best believe by 45 i’m trying to exit the workforce for many reasons. take your breaks! keep your head down! and stack :)

The value is now over 400K and I have an equity of over 150K. So Becker was supposed to charge me $600 to update for unlimited access since my account was due to expire in March. I called them in December to make payment. I work in sf and Nyc and have now saved enough where I’m wondering if it makes sense to buy rather than rent an apartment as an investment. 1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

Why is it when I owe money to a state from my annual tax filings, if I don’t pay the full amount I get charged interest. But when they owe me, they ask for additional documentation and won’t pay me interest for them stonewalling me. Not much volatility y/y in earnings.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. Under contract to buy my first home - house hacking a triplex. Property has been leased by the same three tenants for the last 5+ yrs, rents haven’t been raised since they moved in. Market rents have risen 70-100% in the same timeframe. All seem like ideal tenants (retired and take great care of the units) but I’d like advice on how to approach the rent increase conversation. Rents don’t make/break my mortgage payment but I’m leaving a lot on the table if I don’t increase significantly.
