Time and material models offer flexibility, but flexibility without control is dangerous. When scope is unclear and governance is weak, time and material quietly encourages drift. Costs rise without visible failure, making intervention harder. This model works only when leadership actively manages priorities, challenges estimates, and tracks outcomes, not hours. Without strong oversight, time and material becomes comfortable for vendors and expensive for clients.

I’m new on the job search and still employed. I’m looking to grow further in the logistics industry. While I look for work, it’s a bit discouraging seeing how hundreds of people apply for positions I see on LinkedIn. I still apply because you never know and AI plays a huge effect in selections. Should I even bother applying when there are more than 100 applications?

I’m an introvert in strategy consulting, working in US, born in India. I find it difficult to host client meetings - how to drive conversation, fill in the pauses, and help drive the group move towards next steps consensus. It’s not that I don’t know how, it’s that I doubt myself, and my language skills. I see some other SC/Ms just repeating what others said, and just talking too much of what’s already known - and they are appreciated. How do I reach a stage where I am able to do this better?
