You’re one step way from getting your new job. It requires faith, patience, consistency, and determination. Continue to apply at other locations. May God’s favor be upon you. Shalom
Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. They may not be hiring mid-year, though. It's odd that they aren't even responding to let you know that, though. I wonder if the administrator might be out on vacation or something like that because that's unusual. I hope you hear back soon!
Education funds are drying up faster than a puddle in Las Vegas. I’m guessing a hiring freeze is coming soon to a campus near you, me, us.
In districts across my state they are starting to drop Librarians, Library Aides, Special Needs Aides, and Interventionists off the rosters...It is already beginning.
Honestly, I wouldn’t take it as a clear sign to move on just yet. Schools can be really slow with hiring, especially depending on budgets, staffing changes, or even internal reshuffling. It’s frustrating, but no response doesn’t always mean no interest. It could just mean bad timing. I’d give it a little more time, maybe send one final polite follow-up, and keep applying elsewhere too. Sometimes the door you’re waiting on opens later than you expect.
Yes, unfortunately, that radio silence is more typical than it should be, especially when principals are swamped. If it still feels right to you, I wouldn’t see this as a “move on” moment yet. Maybe follow up once more in a week or two, just to keep the door open?
I used to apply directly to the principals where I knew there was an opening from the Teacher Job Network in my state, and it did often help me land an interview. I still think it is a good approach.
More recently I have noticed after applying for positions through the respective district's chosen application app, there is often a message/warning not to contact them, they will contact you if interested. This doesn't work for getting on their radar.
I would be inclined to email anyway. They can ignore it. I figure if they don't reply or if they reply in a negative manner, you got your answer. Toxic conditions, need not apply.
I think move on, keep the same approach, just know that some admins will ghost you, as they would if you were on campus as well.
Sorry that they aren’t getting back to you one way or the other! I guess if it is a competitive area they might have a mountain of applicants and people to get through. I’d say to keep hope, but hedge your bets and keep trying elsewhere. Never know what's out there and could be an amazing opportunity.
A teacher once told me just to show up. It makes them think you are determined, and take action. Good luck. #empowerment
I agree. Schools need subs. Especially this time of year.
Principals are also slammed with testing and a ton of other things right now. Give it another shot about 7-10 days before school is out. Principals have a ton of administrative things too, we just don’t see all of that.
