you’re allowed to tell them no. I no longer help people that do not reciprocate. You’re not being a team player, you’re being passive and too agreeable. Tell them you have your own tasks to do (even if you don’t if they’re the ones playing on their phones)
Try saying no because they will throw you under the bus without a second thought.
Helping out is the only way we’ll get through the day. Being taken advantage of is crossing the line, though.
To be completely honest, it sounds less like being a team player and more like you are being a pushover. There will always be people who are happy to take advantage of others, so you have to be willing to stand up for yourself. Let them know that you have your own responsibilities to attend to, and they need to handle their own.
Not anymore. I learned to say no.
Just be up front and honest. Say no I’d like to help, but I have my own things to do. If they’re not returning the favor and helping you out when you are swamped, you shouldn’t feel bad about rejecting them.
Just tell them that you are really busy right now and if you get extra time you can help with their work too.
Have to set boundaries
That’s easy to fix! Learn to say no! Oh the peace you will find!
Grow a backbone. Why would you be doing others admissions?
