Considering having a hands an experience on 4-5 Projects with Internship Certificates, Is it possible to get an opportunity directly into a Data Scientist Role(NLP/ML)?

I’m a former educator that has transitioned to working for a SaaS company. I have been hired under one role but have been managing projects in design UX/UI, content management (auditing and process development), and governance (currently working on a bot project). If you start as a Program Manager, how/when do you begin to advise people as a people lead? I’ve heard Program Managers are not people leads.
