Waiting for Ass1 to say it's a fake story because it's a Bluesky post

Please stop, A1. You are making us look horrible with all this trolling.
I believe that there is a winning message in American politics for small government that provides for people when they need it. That's the message that existed when I was growing up, but it's not the message we see in the news right now. The national party torpedoing local assault investigations is emblematic of how messed up our party has become. We need to admit that this is wrong if we want to stop looking so foolish.

No functional link to the story. Here is an overview with context. In February 2025, DC police responded to a report of an assault at Rep. Cory Mills’ (R-Florida) apartment in the Wharf area of Southwest DC.
A 27-year-old woman (Sarah Raviani, an Iranian-American political organizer who was in a relationship with him and shared the apartment) called 911 around 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 19, 2025, alleging that Mills had grabbed, shoved, and pushed her.
Police Response and Outcome
• Officers determined there was probable cause for a misdemeanor simple assault (by hands/feet). They prepared to arrest Mills.
• Bodycam footage (later obtained by the Washington Post) shows the woman initially accusing him, then recanting after she appeared to speak with Mills. A lieutenant then ordered officers not to arrest him.
• No charges were filed. The woman later said no physical altercation occurred and criticized the politicization of the incident. Mills has denied any assault.
• Police sought an arrest warrant, but it was not signed by the U.S. Attorney’s office (then-interim Ed Martin), which sent it back for further investigation.
DC police launched an internal review of how the incident was handled.
Recent Developments (as of May 2026)
• April 2026 Washington Post reporting on bodycam footage and records revived attention, highlighting the near-arrest and recantation.
• House Ethics Committee investigation: An Investigative Subcommittee (established Nov. 2025) is actively probing the DC incident as part of broader allegations against Mills, including dating violence/sexual misconduct, a separate restraining order from another ex-girlfriend (Lindsey Langston, granted in Oct. 2025 over threats and related claims), campaign finance issues, misuse of resources, and more.
• As of May 11, 2026, the committee stated the allegations are “serious and complex.” They have issued >20 subpoenas, collected thousands of documents, contacted dozens of witnesses, and expect more evidence soon.
• Mills denies wrongdoing, calls it politically motivated (e.g., “Democrat tit for tat”), says he pushed for the Ethics review, and is cooperating. He has not been charged criminally.
The story involves partisan tensions, questions about police/prosecutor decisions, and Mills’ personal/relationship issues. No final resolution from Ethics yet, and the criminal side appears closed without charges. Coverage spans left-leaning outlets emphasizing the allegations and right-leaning ones highlighting the recantation and lack of charges.

I am begging you to get a hold of yourself, A1. It's widely reported in major news outlets. We can't make this go away by deflecting or trolling. We need to own it.
I don’t think the problem here is just this guy.

So if the guy denies abusing the woman we should take him at his word? Ok Ike Turner…
