This may be a unpopular opinion, but I got rid of my apartment for the same reason, swallowed my pride, and parked my stuff back home.
Even pre covid, on weekends I planned it to where I was hanging out with friends or had a weekend trip on free points. Even better if you have a SO that would love for you to spend time with them on weekends.
I saved up so much money this way, which I was able to invest, and my financial outlook is wayyyy better than I would have been able to do without.
Every situation is different, my family and I have a great relationship and it doesn't really matter to me if I tell my peers I live at home. I know in 5 years I'll be able to have a financial freedom I woudnt have been able to have so soon otherwise. Personally, this hasn't impacted my quality of life at all. I hang out with my friends and SO as much as I want still, while saving money.
Hahaha they would be happy to have you over for dinner post covid!! 😂😂 To be fair, due to traveling so much, I didn't accumulate too much, and my mentality has been to only buy quality so I never pile up junk. In the pandemic I was also able to further cut down my wardrobe and random items by half, and going minimalist has been super nice!
Under normal circumstances would you spend Fri-Sun in a van by the river? Or in a tent?
You can stay with family, friends, or even a corporate apartment depending on your project. Lots of options and all ways to save a ton of money
Lol yes? Having a home is important.
How old are you? I chose "no" for 5 years, used in lieu of travel to spend most weekends visiting friends, and saved a huge chunk of money which eventually became a house down payment. Not as easy if you are older/friends have families and don't want you crashing on couches etc.

I had an apartment when traveling Mon-Thurs and thought it was a waste of money because I ended up visiting family, friends and my SO on weekends and was barely at the apartment. I ended up not keeping the apartment. You need to have a place to store stuff and stay if you don’t end up traveling - luckily I was able to do this at my parents.
