Updating my resume, are short bullet points better than full sentences and paragraphs when laying out my work experience? I know AI tools will be reviewing my resume and I'm not sure what these programs are looking for?

They mainly are looking for relevance, readability, and keywords. Having a clear structure and nothing extra like graphs or unnecessary sections helps but mainly they are looking for phrases/words that are within the job listing. You obviously don’t want to embellish or twist your experience but as many keywords and phrases in your resume that matches the job description reflects better score wise.

If you have spending money you can get someone to review your resume and update it to be fitting for the role but honestly You can copy the job description and the compare it to your resume using like ChatGPT. I know how people feel about AI but it’s the most cost efficient way to make sure it’s up to ATS standards. Just be sure to check what is written because they do make mistakes. I always just ask for them to update my resume to be ATS optimized and for them to grate it into a pdf. I’ve gotten a lot more interviews doing that.

Hopefully that helps!

Hi friends! I’m an ex-art director that recently stepped away after 5 years to try to pivot into production. I know it’s not the typical career route, but I think I’ll enjoy the work a lot more and be happier overall. I’m also trying to move to NYC from Austin. Does anyone have any tips for me to help me get my foot in the door? I’m an extremely hard worker, I’ve just been struggling to get convos started since I don’t really have a great NYC network. Thanks all!

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent
- about $500 on utilities and subscriptions
- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.

If so, wondering what your recommendations are and or if there are new cards out there I haven't heard of yet. For context I probably have another 20k+ in expenses to pay still and my current cards are:

CSP
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless
Citi double cash

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!
