This topic is so much deeper now. I don't feel like it is the nurses role to educate or persuade someone clearly on the fence or against vaccinations. You end up in a risk vs benefit conversation which is more the scope of a physician. If it's a simple "we recommend the flu vaccine. Due to your COPD you are at high risk of serious illness should you catch the flu." That is fine. Now, with the Internet and this being a hot topic the conversations around vaccinations are much more in depth and patients are citing studies and news articles and personal injury stories. Risk vs benefit is where you wind up and that is more of a physician conversation.
