I spoke to a recruiter about a month ago regarding a position. The comp base variable split was 70/30 which was a great guarantee compared to 50/50 split on same OTE I have now. Since initial discussions the offer has changed to 60/40 split and a 20k lower OTE). I am quite disappointed but also see it a still a very strong opp and I’m really ready to try something new. They mentioned a signing bonus. What is a reasonable signing bonus to ask for? Its 40k difference from the orig base.

Working at a startup, 1st role in data, 70k. Within 6 mo I became primary BI analyst working on projects across all departments. Manager thought I deserved a salary increase, director told her his hands were tied because I hadn't reached 1 year. 1 year mark(aug) I had very positive performance review, director recommended salary increase, CTO said wait for finalized budgets EOY. 1st meeting of the year was told fundraising, salary raises would be determined by EOM, now saying April WTF?
