Visiting NYC for the first time - coming from Chicago on business. I’ll be in town only Wednesday morning through Thursday evening and staying close to Grand Central. Given I’ll only have Wednesday evening free, what should I prioritize doing solo?

How are you please

Comedy shows, broadway, bars, restaurants, museums, etc. Going to parks etc. will really just leave you walking around aimlessly.

How are you please

Eat cheese cake from Jrs go to little Italy and kick back with the mob

Visit Katz’s Deli for a Rueben sandwich as big as your head… check out Central Park and the Central Park Zoo… get a pretzel and/or hot dog from a street vendor in Central Park… Times Square is good for people watching. The 9-11 memorial is something else, but kinda heavy.

Since you’re from Chicago you can skip the Empire State Building (we already got tall buildin’s)…

There’s Rockefeller Square/Today Show outdoor audience/Radio City within blocks of each other…

If you’re a fan of the show Friends their apartment building is located at Grove and Bedford in the West Village.

Jog in Central Park to start your morning. Make your way to Russ & Daughters for a Bagel. Prince Street Pizza for lunch (Lombardi’s also excellent). Avoid Times Square unless you’ve never seen it and/or like the smell of marijuana.

Totally agree

I was recently let go by a Big 4 and I interviewed at Mid-size. I didn’t tell them I was let go and was hired and now working here. Recently realized, the partner I work with and my ex-firm practice partners are good friends. Should I communicate to my ex-firm partner not to share this with my current firm partner when they meet??? Or am I thinking it too much?

I am not sure who needs to hear this but exactly one year ago, I was at my lowest point in life. Today, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Life has truly been a rollercoaster these past few years for me.

I am sharing this to tell you that no matter what you’re feeling right now, it won’t last. Even the happiness I feel right now, I’ve had that stripped from me multiple times. That is LIFE. We have the good and the bad.

Hang in there if times are bad. If things are good, prepare to lose it too.

Let's say through a combination of aggressive saving, high income, and savvy investments, I manage to save several million by the time I'm 40.

If at that time I decided to pursue my passion and go to law school so that I can be an affordable attorney for worthy causes, will my age hold me back from getting into law school?

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

A director in another unit wants to meet me to “continue a conversation we started last year”. He is referring to the time I had asked him if there were openings on his team. That was over a year ago. I am not too happy where I am right now ( I stayed where I was). I also don’t know if he really has an opportunity or if this is just some corporate circle jerk where my current director is trying to “smoke me out”. I don’t speak poorly of my team/work. How would you approach this conversation?
