Wanted to get a census of the latest benefits firms are providing for CPA exam fees and review courses. Are you reimbursing exam fees only if passed? Only for one sitting? Are you reimbursing review courses? Do you have an account with a review course? Would love to know what the latest trends are - if you could include your size that would be helpful too. Many thanks!

EY has direct bill for Becker CPA for the course only. Flashcards and add-ons are a personal expense.

They will also pay for one sitting of each CPA section. If you do not pass, additional fees are not paid for.

If you are a college hire, there is a bonus for passing within 12 months (full amount of bonus) or 24 months (bonus reduced).

This was as of a few years ago, not sure if it has changed.

Deloitte same exact thing ^

BT has a program where you send the talent team an email, they make you a Becker account that you don’t have to pay back as long as you have 1 year with the firm. They reimburse all fees for 1 attempt on each exam upon passing all 4 exams and they’ll reimburse the ethics exam from the AICPA if required. They’ll also reimburse other review courses, but I’m not sure what the program is because the Becker relationship is less hassle. The Becker account is the most premium souped up one you can buy, idk what it’s called but it has everything you need to pass

Does any firm reimburse for part time MBA ? Thinking of applying for Booth part time MBA

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
