I have a business idea in the VR/AR space utilizing AI. However, I lack skill sets to evaluate viability or to create an MVP. Neither do I have a network to tap into.

My plan is taking classes to deepen my knowledge while joining and actively participating in communities to find collaborators.

I know this question may sound dumb but How do you quit? See, if I didn’t like my supervising partner, I would not care. I would just submit my two-week notice but I truly like my supervising partner and I know quitting will be a shock and disappointment to her. Generally how long are on sites? Are they all on one day’s block? The entire 4 hours?

Compliance question here, I have always thought of the SALT deduction on the fed return as a perm item & have treated as such in such sch M-3. I see that some people put it as a temp on sch M-3. What is the justification for treating it as a temp on the M-3. You don’t set up a deferred on the def RF for the state tax deduct & it is also a rate impacting item (I know that some temps can be rate impacting). But this all leaves me to side with perm. Does anyone know the logic behind temp treatment?

I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?
