Were you ever working closely with someone and then BOOM you see on LinkedIn that they started at a new company?? Like, we were just on a planning call a few weeks ago dude, wth? I get that people aren’t obligated to send goodbye emails before moving on to the next opportunity, but it kind of turns LinkedIn into a war zone where ppl are dropping bombs left and right.

Very often a person's manager will instruct a person not to tell others that they have giving notice. Organizations tend to want to control that information. Not saying that's right or wrong, but don't assume it is a personal choice the person is making, very often it is not. Managers and leadership like to keep a tight handle on communications for when ppl leave, regardless of why/the reasons

That’s good to know, thanks. When I was in the military, we always had “hail and farewells” for people coming and going from the team. I thought it was the norm but I’m now realizing corporate America is quite opposite.
