Very often a person's manager will instruct a person not to tell others that they have giving notice. Organizations tend to want to control that information. Not saying that's right or wrong, but don't assume it is a personal choice the person is making, very often it is not. Managers and leadership like to keep a tight handle on communications for when ppl leave, regardless of why/the reasons
That’s good to know, thanks. When I was in the military, we always had “hail and farewells” for people coming and going from the team. I thought it was the norm but I’m now realizing corporate America is quite opposite.
