Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

“It feels super unorganized without much direction” is a good indicator that it’s a bad team…
More interesting is WHY is it a bad team and what would it take to fix it, but that would require more detail. Like families, the good ones look similar, but there are infinite ways and reasons for them to be bad. Some have a quick fix (e.g., remove a bad team member), other times a hard fix (e.g., team culture and processes need to be revamped), and in some cases no fix (e.g., the team is hired to do something which is actually not possible and the team problems are a red herring and really project should be abandoned)
I’d look more into the management consulting side.
If there isn’t a data culture and an understanding of analytics in the firm, then your data consulting team is going to suck.
