Depending on your education and qualifications, you might want to get a certification, such as CompTIA A+. And there are online courses you could take to upskill. Beyond that, try to get some practical experience troubleshooting common problems. Something else to work on would be clear communication skills and active listening, to improve how you handle issues from users.
This is the main certification that most places ask for. You study for this with books and online resources and then find a testing center on their website and go there and take the test. You can take certifications and courses online, the best thing you could do though is find a job in it. I know that is so much easier said than done given the current market. However, the best way to learn is to do, although there is a lot out there that you can learn to get the basics.
Look on YouTube for "Professor Messer A+". It's free. Then you can work on figuring out how to pay for the exam.

I’d recommend practicing with virtual labs and simulating troubleshooting scenarios.. there are lots of platforms online where you can do this. Also, dive into certifications like CompTIA A+ or ITIL for a structured approach. Keep playing around with different setups and networking tools to build that hands-on experience

There's a Google IT Support certificate that's pretty good for Helpdesk. If you can finish quickly during the Coursera free trial it will cost you nothing for thr course.
