I went to mt. Kilimanjaro after my final CPA grade was posted. I planned on passing. I actually found out before I left but my original plan was to rent a powerful cell phone and call my dad from on top of the mountain to see if I passed.....after which I would either walk down or throw myself off the ledge depending on how I scored. Regardless, I had an awesome trip planned.

Whenever I lost motivation, I used to go for a run to this one neighborhood that had million dollar houses. That would light a fire under my ass to keep studying knowing one day I could own that, but I need my license first.

As far as assurance goes - there was no pay difference. Having your license gives you extra points on your evaluation, but so does having a crazy amount of charge hours. It tends to even out. However, a senior without a license can never make manager, so they're stuck.

Lol^^

You only have to do it once and it isn't really that difficult. Just takes a time and commitment.

Money, that last 5000 is going to finish the down payment on my first house

My roommate - we were doing it together and ended up both passing all parts the first try

For those that have passed, how distinct is the effect on your salary? What is the difference between two seniors' salaries of equal experience when one has their CPA and one does not? Did anyone see an immediate raise? Been curious about this stuff for a while.

It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?
