I personally love to catch up on my favorite YouTube channels (Stocks, Finance etc) and eat cranberries while doing so…
I make dinner. Mindless tasks like chopping vegetables or washing dishes let me just zone out, so I can let my head rest. Then I get to eat a tasty meal.
Quick fix is to always have a pomegranate in the fridge, and to peel it open and have a few seeds. That shit is therapeutic, if I was some 3rd world farmer, that'd absolutely be by first choice of job.
Bike rides and lawn work are always nice too.
When I get home I change immediately. Go for a nice 45min to hour long walk or bike ride. This usually calms my nerves and lets me process things that have either happened or going to happen. Also, exercise is great for you even in moderate amounts. When I get back I take a quick shower and then cook myself dinner. Then a toke and/or beer followed by a couple hours of tv or gaming before I go to bed. I will do chores or other things that need to be done if I feel like it.
Exercise. I go for a run at 9pm, just the dog and I.
I pop on zombies run, some music and go for at least an hour.
There's something about getting some excercise in, away from staring at a screen and worrying about how much you can lift.
Especially being by yourself (at work I have to deal with staff issues all day, then kids when I get home).
Me time is very important.
Cooking an amazing dinner for my lovely girlfriend. Then some sci-fi tv and off to bed for early gym.
I recently started meditating almost daily. It really does help me calm down and unwind and it makes it easier to focus when I'm not meditating, gives you tools to get rid of the background noise in your head. There are apps and tutorials out there for those that are interested in trying it.
The drive home usually helps me unwind, I love being in my car and zoning out to some music. Just as long as it serves as a constant transition from hustle mode to relaxation mode you'll be set.
I go home, play with my dog, watch tv with my girl, work on my cars.
I also love working in a stressful environment (or I wouldn’t of gotten into this career field) so that helps with just shutting my mind off after I leave.
