Is it normal for PPMD to jump around? I feel like I’ve met a few that have spent time as PPMD at different firms or have just recently joined EY from another Big 4/competitor.

Any tips for moving up in a medium/large-sized legal department, aside from switching companies? I work in a collegial environment with plenty of opportunities to create more value, but the management level is fairly crowded and it seems the clearest path to get one of those roles is to be hired into it. Does anyone else feel like distribution is the most behind-the-times of any department within a company? I work for a major automotive brand and some of the facility managers write and read at a 9th grade level, cannot properly use virtually anything in Office, etc.

I'm glad people can order things online and get them the next day; but it makes my job harder because a lot of the people in my company don't see that we just don't have the infrastructure for that kind of operation, so they need to order it BEFORE they need it the next day
