when Work >>> Life 😅

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

I still call it Christmas break. To me, that’s what it is.
Depending on how involved you want to be:
Few options- one would be to have each HR or each grade level take a different seasonal Holiday. They have to create a display or video about their Holiday, plan one activity, dance, or craft, and have a traditional food or beverage (beware of allergies) for the Holiday and create a symbol stamp for that holiday. Each student gets a holiday passport and (HR/grade level) gets a fly time. They go to the other classes, learn about the other holidays, enjoy a thing, have a treat, and get their passport stamped. They’ll travel the holiday world, return home and host other flyers.
Option 2-Holiday Spirit Days (optional)
Starting Dec 1- each day is a themed dress day. Example:
Red, Green& Jean Day
Candy cane day - dress in red & white stripes
Holiday Vacation Day- dress in Hawaiian shirts, hula skirts over pants & leis
Grinch Day- dress as a character from the Gribch who stole Christmas
Holiday Hat Day- wear a festive hat
You get the idea.
3. Holiday Themed Door Decorating Contest with top 3 Doors getting prizes
4. Goose chase scavenger hunt-
Admin or student council load scavenger hunt items and point value into app. The hunt has to be done together as a H R. Highest point earning class gets ice cream or pizza party. Item like- serenade your neighbor( teacher opens app and records their class caroling to another class nearby, or spreading Cheer for the Holiday (teacher takes a picture of each student holding a card they made to be dropped off at a local nursing home to cheer up residence) or Caring for the Community ( teacher takes a picture of each student holding two items to be donated to the local food band or to be used to create holiday baskets for families in need at your school). Different tasks where students work together with the proof being a short video or picture. Start Dec.1 & classes have up to 4-5 days prior to break so you can award prizes.
Books and Brunch
The art students paint festive murals on the windows and student council hosts Whoville every year. Whoville involves elaborate decorations in all the halls as well as a giving tree for families in need and a donation drive for a local charity (usually a food bank of some kind).
It was actually started by the art teacher a few years ago as one of their assignments. They work on them during class.
There are ways to include all the Holidays that celebrated in the month of December. This can be a time for students to learn about other cultures who live in the same community as they do. They will also learn about other places around the world.

I try to teach my students a generic "Holidays Around the World".
